Shawn DuBravac, CFA is the Economist and Director of Research for the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), where he helps oversee the day-to-day operations of CEA’s many research initiatives. Located just outside Washington DC, CEA is a top 15 Trade Association representing over 2,000 technology companies.
At CEA, DuBravac provides research into the technology trends underpinning the industry and quantitative support for CEA’s legislative initiatives. DuBravac also handling analysis of the economy as it relates to the technology industry including forecasting future economic activity, econometric studies, and ascertaining relative health of the industry.
Prior to joining CEA, DuBravac was head research analyst in the Economic Analysis Group of the Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division. He holds economic degrees from Brigham Young University and George Mason University. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. He is active with the National Association of Business Economists and serves on the Board of Directors for the CFA Society of Washington, DC.
DuBravac is also an Adjunct Professor in George Mason University’s MBA program. He has published on a wide range of topics in finance, economics, and technology. He is a frequent invited speaker and is widely quoted on technology and the economy.
In his free time, he volunteers in the community by providing financial education through the Virginia Cooperative Extension.
